Cícero Dantas man killed by bottle strike during fight intervention
A 38-year-old man, Tiago dos Santos Souza, died on Sunday morning in Cícero Dantas after being struck by a bottle while attempting to break up a fight. The incident occurred around 6:00 AM on Avenida ACM in the city center.
Emergency medical services (SAMU) provided initial assistance, but the victim did not survive. A patrol from the Rondesp Nordeste unit was passing by the location at the time and witnessed the act, leading to the immediate arrest of the suspect, identified as 43-year-old José Edielson Ribeiro dos Santos.
The suspect has been taken to the local Civil Police Station. This event marks the third homicide recorded in the municipality in 2026. The incident followed local festivities celebrating the patron saint, Nossa Senhora do Bom Conselho.
