CChC implements AI for building permits and upgrades technical education in Chile

The Chilean Chamber of Construction (CChC) has introduced several initiatives as part of its 75th-anniversary celebrations, focusing on technological integration in both public administration and education.

In collaboration with Google Cloud, the CChC launched ‘Revi: permisos con IA’, an artificial intelligence tool designed to accelerate the processing of building permits and minor works within Municipal Works Directorates (DOM). The initiative aims to reduce the historical average waiting period of 126 days for these permits. The project was presented to mayors from the Metropolitan Region to demonstrate how public-private collaboration can streamline construction investments and facilitate citizen access to necessary documentation.

Additionally, through the ‘Salas Construyo Mi Futuro’ contest, the CChC is supporting technical-professional education. The Liceo Bicentenario Nirvana in Alto Hospicio was selected as a winner in the Tarapacá region. The school will receive a technological classroom equipped with computers, a technical plotter, an interactive whiteboard, and an HD projector. This equipment is intended to help students in the metal construction specialty transition from manual labor to digital project design, planning, and measurement.
