CCIR and Coface Romania support SMEs in accessing finance and foreign markets
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) and Coface Romania organized the Excellent SME conference on September 23. The event focused on companies holding the Excellent SME certification, which recognizes their performance and impact on the Romanian economy.
Discussions addressed major challenges for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), including maintaining profitability in a dynamic economy, accessing financing, and building sustainable business partnerships. Bogdan Vișan, Deputy Secretary General of CCIR, noted that wage costs are rising faster than labor productivity and highlighted a shortage of qualified specialists as a significant issue.
The Excellent SME certificate aims to provide companies with a competitive advantage in negotiating payment terms and securing credit lines. Additionally, Ana Crăciun of Coface Romania presented an analysis suggesting that investments will be a key focus for 2026, with public investments estimated at approximately 31 billion euros, two-thirds of which are funded by European Union resources.
