CCOO faces strike-rights dispute and fraud trial in Galicia
The CCOO-Servizos union says retailer Gadis is attempting to curb the right to strike by filing a lawsuit seeking €1.25 million in compensation after recent food‑store walk‑outs. The union plans a protest on Monday 20 July 2026 outside the Mediation, Arbitration and Conciliation Office (SMAC) in A Coruña, joined by CIG, UGT and USO.
Meanwhile, a former communications secretary of the CCOO Federation of Education will be tried at the Provincial Court of A Coruña on 22 July 2026. The prosecutor alleges the official misused union funds for personal purchases, created a bogus association to issue false invoices and participated in an irregular billing scheme, seeking a prison term of nine years and six months.
