CCP intelligence official buys building near White House
A senior Chinese Communist Party (CCP) intelligence official has purchased a historic building located approximately 650 feet from the White House Complex. According to property filings, the Securities Building on 15th Street was bought on July 21, 2026, for $8.4 million by the Philip Qiu and Family Foundation.
The owner, Philip Qiu (also identified as Qiu Feili), has held multiple positions within Chinese intelligence and state security arms. Reports indicate he was previously trained as a sniper.
Intelligence experts have raised concerns regarding the potential national security implications of the purchase. Former CIA operations officer Bryan Dean Wright noted that the proximity could facilitate various intelligence operations, ranging from electronic surveillance and signal collection to more advanced threats involving drones or other tactical equipment.
