Cúcuta Deportivo parts ways with manager Richard Páez
Cúcuta Deportivo has announced the departure of Venezuelan manager Richard Páez and his assistant, Jorge Durán, following a mutual agreement. The club became the first in the Liga BetPlay 2026-II to undergo a coaching change.
The decision follows a difficult start to the season, with the team sitting at the bottom of the table. In the current tournament phase, the club has earned only one point from a possible twelve, including a 2-0 loss to Fortaleza.
Páez, who previously managed the Venezuelan national team, held the position for six months after joining in February 2026. During his tenure, he directed 22 matches, recording three wins, nine draws, and ten losses, resulting in a 27% success rate.
