CD Projekt anticipates revenue boost from The Witcher 3 expansion

CD Projekt Red is anticipating a significant revenue boost in 2027 driven by the upcoming release of ‘Songs of the Past’, the third expansion for ‘The Witcher 3’. CFO Piotr Nielubowicz noted that while the expansion is expected to support revenue, the company cautions against using previous expansion sales as a direct metric for forecasting, given that this release arrives 12 years after the original game's launch.

Market interest is already showing signs of growth. Following demonstrations at Gamescom and the announcement of a ‘The Witcher 3’ remaster, the company observed an increase in sales for the base game. Beyond direct sales, the company expects future releases to bolster revenue through brand licensing.

In addition to the Witcher franchise, CD Projekt is simultaneously developing several other projects, including ‘Witcher 4’, ‘Cyberpunk 2’, Hadar, and Sirius, as it aims to expand its capabilities as a multi-project studio.
