Electronic Arts' Laura Miele touts AI creativity as CD Projekt cautions against AI-driven game production

Electronic Arts' president of enterprise development, Laura Miele, said generative AI has produced a "real rise of creativity" and faster prototyping in EA studios, removing tedious tasks and shortening parts of development cycles. She discussed these benefits at the Summer Game Fest 2026, noting that AI tools help teams focus on strategic and innovative work. EA has urged its roughly 15,000 employees to adopt AI across coding, concept art and even managerial tasks, a push that has generated internal discomfort.

In contrast, CD Projekt co‑CEO Michał Nowakowski warned that an AI‑driven “revolution” could flood the market with low‑quality games. He reiterated doubts about AI’s ability to create games autonomously, saying the company uses AI only for productivity areas and does not plan to replace creative talent. Nowakowski cautioned that relying heavily on generative AI could harm the industry’s ability to stand out amid a flood of rapidly produced titles.
