CD Projekt Red announces The Witcher 3 Remastered

CD Projekt Red has announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, which is scheduled for release on September 29, 2026. The update will be available at no additional cost to existing owners of the original game across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Executive producer Jakub Kutrzuba stated that the goal is to modernize the experience ahead of the upcoming Songs of the Past expansion, planned for 2027, and the development of The Witcher 4. Key improvements include more fluid traversal animations, a revamped combat system with more precise attacks and dodges, enhanced accessibility, and improved visual performance with Ray Tracing support for the PS5 Pro.

In light of the upcoming remaster, interest in the original book series by Andrzej Sapkowski remains high, with various collections of the fantasy novels available for readers looking to engage with the franchise's lore.
