CD Projekt Red executive remains unconcerned by console price hikes
CD Projekt Red co-CEO Michał Nowakowski stated that the company is not concerned about rising console prices or potential delays in next-generation hardware caused by increasing RAM costs. Speaking to The Game Business, Nowakowski emphasized that consoles remain essential for reaching casual and semi-casual audiences due to their ease of use.
Nowakowski maintained that content is the primary driver for players, suggesting that if a game is high quality, consumers will find a way to play it regardless of the platform or hardware availability. He noted that while developers always desire maximum hardware power, the company is prepared to adapt its technical approach if next-generation hardware releases are postponed.
Despite industry rumors regarding hardware delays and price challenges, Nowakowski expressed confidence that the console market will endure, stating, “The consoles are here to stay.”
