CD Projekt Red announced that the official minimum system requirement for its game Cyberpunk 2077 has been changed to Windows 11. The update, made in late May 2026, aligns with Microsoft’s plan to end support for Windows 10, meaning future patches and updates for the game will no longer be tested on the older OS.

The change follows earlier adjustments: in 2022 the studio dropped Windows 7 support, and in 2023 it raised hardware specifications such as RAM, VRAM and SSD capacity. The new Windows 11 requirement also applies to the upcoming The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past expansion, enforcing TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot. Gamers whose PCs meet the hardware specs but run Windows 10 may need to upgrade, downgrade to earlier game versions, or accept the lack of official support.
