CD Projekt Red to unveil Witcher 3: Songs of the Past DLC at Gamescom 2026
CD Projekt RED announced that its third expansion for *The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt*, titled **Songs of the Past**, will receive its first public showing during the Gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live show in Cologne on 25 August 2026. The live stream, hosted by Geoff Keighley, is expected to present a trailer and possibly a guided gameplay demonstration.
The expansion, co‑developed with the studio Fool’s Theory, is scheduled for release in 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S; it will not be available for older consoles such as PS4 or Xbox One. CD Projekt RED will also host on‑site demos at its Gamescom booth – business‑area stand B065 (Hall 4.2) from 26‑28 August and entertainment‑area stands B030 and A031 (Hall 8.1) from 26‑30 August – where visitors can watch a live presentation of the new content, though no playable demo is planned.
Songs of the Past is positioned as a narrative bridge to the forthcoming *The Witcher 4*, bringing Geralt of Rivia back for a final adventure before the series shifts focus to Ciri. The announcement follows the series’ long‑term success, with the original game selling over 65 million copies worldwide and winning numerous Game of the Year awards.
