Commerce Dot Com shares AI procurement insights in Bhutan

Commerce Dot Com Sdn Bhd (CDC), a Malaysian technology firm specializing in government electronic procurement (e-GP) solutions, presented its findings on artificial intelligence integration at the 11th Asia Pacific Public Electronic Procurement Network (APPeN) Conference in Thimphu, Bhutan.

Organized by the Asian Development Bank in collaboration with the Royal Government of Bhutan, the conference hosted over 70 participants from 28 countries. CDC Executive Director Putri Nurul Ida Yahya highlighted how AI can automate routine tasks and assist public institutions in interpreting complex data to support decision-making.

CDC reported that a three-month conversational AI pilot project within Malaysia’s government procurement system resulted in a 15 to 18 per cent reduction in call centre workload. The company emphasized that successful AI adoption requires a focus on ethical practices and addressing real-world operational challenges.
