CDD Las Mercedes performs first cardiac surgery in new tower

CDD Las Mercedes has performed its first cardiac surgery at its new Hospitalization and Intervention Tower. The procedure was led by cardiovascular surgeon Dr. Giambattista La Forgia, supported by a multidisciplinary team and specialized intensive care infrastructure.

This milestone is part of a broader project initiated by founder Dr. Wilson Mourad to develop a comprehensive cardiovascular vertical. The goal is to create a complete medical ecosystem capable of diagnosing, treating, and intervening in a wide spectrum of pathologies within a single institution.

In the coming months, the center plans to integrate advanced diagnostic technologies, including high-resolution cardiac tomography, cardiac MRI, a GE HealthCare hemodynamics room, cardiac PET, and a specialized Chest Pain Unit. The expansion aims to strengthen cardiovascular surgery, interventional cardiology, and critical care services.
