Cádiz and Gibraltar offer diverse coastal and mountain destinations

The province of Cádiz offers a diverse range of destinations spanning the Atlantic coast and the Sierra de Cádiz. Notable locations include Vejer de la Frontera, known for its white architecture and historic center, and Setenil de las Bodegas, where houses are integrated into rock formations. Other significant towns include Grazalema, Arcos de la Frontera, Tarifa, Zahara de la Sierra, Conil de la Frontera, Sanlúcar de Barrameda, and Olvera.

Near the border of Cádiz, Catalan Bay (known in Spanish as La Caleta) serves as a prominent destination in Gibraltar. Located at the foot of the Rock of Gibraltar, this Mediterranean fishing village is characterized by colorful houses and seafood gastronomy. While the name 'Catalan Bay' may stem from theories regarding Catalan military involvement during the War of the Spanish Succession in 1704, the Spanish name 'La Caleta' predates the English designation.
