Cádiz approves €215 million 12‑year bus service contract
The Cádiz City Council voted to approve the tender specifications for a new urban bus service contract lasting twelve years and worth €215 million. The plan calls for expanding the fleet from 48 to 60 vehicles, all hybrid, and reorganising routes—including a historic‑centre circular line and a summer outer‑city circular service—to improve coverage and frequency. The contract must be fully implemented within four years of commencement.
The council also clarified that minor revisions to the cost structure were made: the fuel and lubricant share fell from 7.98% to 7.29%, while the maintenance share rose from 6.92% to 7.61%. Officials said these changes are insignificant and do not affect the overall public‑information process, confirming the tender will proceed as scheduled.
