Cádiz business and mobility trends show seasonal shifts

The province of Cádiz saw a slight decline in business activity in August 2026, with 33,517 companies registered with Social Security. This represents a decrease of 219 companies compared to the previous month and 102 fewer than in August 2025. The service sector remains the largest employer, with 262,828 workers, followed by industry with 40,584 workers.

In the mobility sector, the company Cabify reported a successful summer season in the area between El Puerto de Santa María and Jerez de la Frontera. The platform recorded nearly 54,000 trip requests, with July seeing over 32,000 requests and August exceeding 21,000. Approximately 70% of these requests came from existing users, while 30% were new users. El Puerto served as the primary hub, accounting for 88% of the service requests.
