Cádiz celebrates 150th anniversary of composer Manuel de Falla

The Festival de Cádiz is commemorating the 150th anniversary of the birth of composer Manuel de Falla. The anniversary program includes 35 concerts and the premiere of 20 new musical pieces.

According to Patricia del Pozo, the regional Minister of Culture, Heritage, and Sport, the festival aims to connect Falla’s legacy with contemporary musical creation. This approach seeks to modernize the composer's influence by creating a dialogue between his classical works and current musical trends.

In international recognition of the milestone, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Domingo Hindoyan, has released an album featuring a selection of Falla’s most popular orchestral works. The repertoire includes suites from ‘El sombrero de tres picos’ and pieces from ‘La vida breve’, highlighting the composer's global impact and cosmopolitan influence.
