Cádiz CF aims to retain Antonio Cordero while Yussi Diarra’s future remains uncertain

Forward Antonio Cordero, on loan from Newcastle United, has expressed a strong desire to stay at Cádiz CF for the next season. The club, which benefited from his three goals and key offensive contributions during a relegation battle, is working with Newcastle to extend the loan for another year despite interest from other Spanish sides such as Mallorca and Almería.

Mid‑fielder Yussi Diarra, who signed a contract through 2029 after Cádiz paid €700,000 to acquire him from Tenerife, has had a disappointing campaign. He failed to cement a regular role under former managers Gaizka Garitano and Sergio González and is now being linked with a possible transfer abroad or to lower‑division clubs, though Cádiz appears reluctant to let him go for less than its valuation.
