Cádiz CF wins Trofeo Teide and announces €6.5 million capital increase

Cádiz CF ended a run of three consecutive pre‑season defeats by drawing 2‑2 with CD Tenerife and then prevailing in a penalty shoot‑out to claim the Trofeo Teide. The match featured a own‑goal by Manu Rivera, a free‑kick equaliser from Antoñito Cordero and a late Tenerife winner before Cádiz secured the trophy in the shoot‑out.

Club president Christian Septien later confirmed an imminent capital increase of €6.5 million, guaranteed by himself and vice‑president Rafael Contreras. He said, “Hay una ampliación de capital ya, inminente, de seis punto cinco millones de euros garantizada por Rafael Contreras y por mí,” adding that the funds will support summer signings and further growth steps for the club.
