Cádiz mayor touts progress; Lodosa mayor commits to biometane fight

Bruno García, mayor of Cádiz, marked three years in office during a municipal debate that turned to the eight‑year tenure of his predecessor, José María González Kichi. García highlighted a series of local initiatives, including work on the Portillo area, the city cemetery, the hospital, the IES Rosario school, the Teatro Pemán, the Avenida de Astilleros, the Puertas de Tierra, the Mentidero health centre, the waterfront, the Roman theatre, the Parque Genovés, the Santa Bárbara pergola, road paving, the Palacio de Congresos, the local police headquarters, the dog beach, school maintenance funding, a tsunami‑alert system and an upcoming tender for urban bus services.

In Lodosa, the mayor (Laura) reflected on her final term, emphasizing the town’s fight against a planned biometane plant. She cited achievements such as the renovation of the Cava, professionalisation of municipal staff, the establishment of the public company LodoSANA, the closure of the indoor pool and the creation of a stable public enterprise. She mentioned ongoing projects like the Montserrat development and noted that the biometane campaign remains a priority.
