Cádiz moves forward with new hospital site and social housing projects

The Junta de Andalucía has sent the required documentation to formalise the transfer of the former aircraft‑factory site in Cádiz to the Servicio Andaluz de Salud, clearing a five‑month delay and paving the way for the construction of a new regional hospital.

Procasa, the public housing company, has approved the construction of 35 social‑rental apartments in the Puntales neighbourhood, selecting Citania SL to carry out the works. The project is funded by Next Generation EU funds, and additional phases for collaborative housing and further protected units are being prepared. Local officials highlighted the initiatives as priority actions for the city, while opposition parties criticised previous delays.

Both measures aim to expand health‑care capacity and address the housing shortage in Cádiz.
