CDU offices in Germany targeted by left-wing extremist attacks

The Christian Democratic Union (CDU) in Germany has reported a series of attacks targeting party offices across the country, linked to left-wing extremist groups. Following a warning from the CDU Baden-Württemberg regarding a vague threat from the left-wing extremist spectrum, several incidents were documented.

In Mannheim, a color bag attack was carried out against the local district office. In Bremen, members of the ‘Interventionistische Linke’ and the ‘Bündnis Widersetzen’ dumped large quantities of horse manure in front of a CDU office in the Altstadt. The perpetrators left a four-meter-wide banner with insulting messages and flyers, describing the CDU as a ‘facilitator for right-wing extremist politics.’

The groups claimed the action was part of a nationwide day of action. Similar activities were reported or planned for CDU headquarters in cities including Berlin, Hamburg, Hannover, Leipzig, Nuremberg, and Aschaffenburg.
