Goiás appoints Mozart as coach after Daniel Paulista moves to Ceará

Former Coritiba champion Mozart was dismissed by Ceará in late May following a defeat to Operário de Ponta Grossa. Within days he entered talks with Goiás and is set to replace Daniel Paulista, who was sacked after a four‑match winless streak that left the club 12th in Brazil’s Série B. Mozart, 46, previously led Coritiba to the 2023 Série B title and has a record of strong defensive teams.

Daniel Paulista, who guided Goiás to the 2023 Campeonato Goiano title but could not sustain success in the national league, was hired by Ceará on a contract through the end of the season. He arrives to a side battling near the bottom of the Série B table and facing salary‑payment delays. Both clubs aim to improve their standings and chase promotion to Série A.
