Ceará initiative trains atypical mothers in auriculotherapy

In Ceará, Brazil, the Legislative Assembly of the State of Ceará (Alece) is training atypical mothers through the Inclusive Center for Child Care and Development (Ciadi) to use auriculotherapy. This ancient technique involves stimulating specific points on the ear to promote well-being and emotional regulation.

The initiative aims to provide families with an accessible, non-invasive tool to manage anxiety, agitation, and sleep disorders in neurodivergent children and adolescents. Beyond assisting children, the training also emphasizes self-care for mothers, who often face significant physical and emotional exhaustion due to the demands of caregiving.
