Ceará police arrest suspect in Sobral for electoral threats

The Civil Police of Ceará (PCCE) arrested a 27-year-old man in Sobral suspected of making political threats against a candidate via social media. This arrest brings the total number of individuals captured for crimes related to the 2026 elections in Ceará to 30.

According to the Secretariat of Public Security and Social Defense (SSPDS-CE), these captures involve suspects suspected of belonging to criminal organizations attempting to interfere in the 2026 electoral context. The operations follow a monitoring protocol similar to those used during the 2024 elections. Most arrests occurred in various municipalities across Ceará, including Fortaleza, Acaraú, and Baturité, with one arrest also recorded in São Paulo.
