Ceará State Assembly bans election propaganda in its facilities for 2026 vote
The Mesa Diretora of the Assembleia Legislativa do Estado do Ceará (Alece) issued a normative act that prohibits any form of electoral propaganda within the Assembly’s physical and digital spaces during the 2026 elections. The rule bars the display, distribution, production, storage, or dissemination of campaign materials, as well as the use of institutional channels—including Alece TV, Alece FM and official social‑media accounts—for political advertising. Exceptions are limited to privately owned vehicles parked on the premises that display candidate stickers, provided they do not become gathering points for supporters. The act also restricts recordings of legislative sessions for campaign purposes and suspends interactive features on the Assembly’s social‑media profiles during the electoral period. These measures aim to ensure fairness among candidates and prevent the misuse of public resources for political advantage.
