Ceasa-GO to host 6th Pequi Festival in Goiânia

The Centrais de Abastecimento de Goiás (Ceasa-GO) will host the 6th Pequi Festival on October 22 in Goiânia. The event celebrates regional culture and gastronomy, featuring traditional performances such as catira, Folia de Reis, and music by the Orquestra de Violeiros do Estado de Goiás.

A central highlight of the festival is the ‘Maior Roedor de Pequi’ gastronomic challenge, where participants compete to gnaw the most seeds within a set time for a prize of R$ 1,000. The festival also includes a free lunch for attendees, the launch of the ‘Doe Alimentos’ campaign, and the official delivery of structural improvements to the Ceasa-GO facility.

Ceasa-GO serves as a major hub for the fruit, handling approximately 80% of the pequi extracted in the states of Goiás, Minas Gerais, Tocantins, and Mato Grosso.
