CEC Bank launches Cash2Card service for instant cash deposits onto any Visa or Mastercard in Romania

CEC Bank has introduced a new service called Cash2Card that lets users deposit cash directly onto Visa or Mastercard cards issued by any Romanian bank. The service is accessed through the bank’s network of more than 270 multifunctional ATMs (MFM) and is offered free of charge, even to customers who do not hold an account with CEC Bank. Deposits are credited to the card in real time, 24/7, and can be used immediately for purchases, online payments or other card transactions.

According to Mihaela Bujac, Director Adjunct of the Card Division at CEC Bank, the initiative aims to simplify cash handling and promote financial inclusion by making modern payment infrastructure available to a broader public. While the service itself is free, a processing commission set by the ATM‑operating bank and possible fees from the card‑issuing bank may apply, and daily limits are imposed for security and regulatory reasons.
