CECA foundations emerge as Spain's leading private social investors

Foundations associated with CECA have become Spain’s leading private social investor, allocating over 1,004 million euros to social work in 2025. During an annual meeting in Logroño, representatives discussed the sector's role in social and financial inclusion, combating depopulation, supporting youth and the elderly, and promoting culture and sustainability.

Of the total 2025 investment, 36% was directed toward social programs, while more than 218 million euros supported cultural and heritage initiatives. Over the last twelve years, CECA-associated entities have dedicated more than 9,700 million euros to social work, conducting over one million activities.

CECA Director General Antonio Romero emphasized that the deep territorial knowledge held by these banking entities and foundations allows them to respond effectively to emerging social needs. He advocated for public-private collaboration as an essential tool for addressing modern challenges through localized, efficient responses.
