CECHA and Mercado Pago launch CNG conversion financing

CECHA and Mercado Pago have launched an initiative to promote Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversions through financing options of up to $1.9 million. The program aims to facilitate the installation of CNG equipment, helping motorists reduce fuel costs and increasing activity at service stations during periods of lower gasoline demand.

Industry representatives note that while the cost of installation is approximately $1.8 million depending on the vehicle and system, the investment can be recovered in less than a year for high-mileage drivers. Additionally, there is a growing trend of companies incorporating CNG into truck fleets, supported by advancing infrastructure and the potential of biomethane.
