Cecilia Bartoli honored at Salzburg Festival premiere

Opera singer Cecilia Bartoli was recently celebrated following the premiere of Gioachino Rossini’s “Il viaggio a Reims” at the Salzburg Festival. The event included a festive reception at the Hotel Sacher Salzburg, attended by the ensemble, festival directors, and various musical colleagues.

In recognition of her contributions, Bartoli was awarded the festival pin adorned with rubies. The Salzburg Festival leadership praised her versatility and long-standing connection to the festival, where she has performed 83 opera roles and 10 concerts over twenty summers. Since 2012, she has also directed the Pentecost Festival.

Director Barrie Kosky delivered a laudation, describing Bartoli as one of the most inspiring people in his life and noting the seamless connection between her life and her art.
