Cecilia Domínguez presents novel at La Librería del Cabildo; Paraísos de Papel hosts literary day

On Wednesday, July 29, the Canary Islands library La Librería del Cabildo held a reading club session featuring author Cecilia Domínguez Luis. The discussion centered on her 2015 novel "El sepulcro vacío," which blends historical events from La Orotava with fiction, exploring family secrets, Freemasonry, and late‑19th‑century Canarian society. The session was moderated by writer Antonio López Ortega and allowed participants to discuss the book’s creation with the author.

The following day, Thursday, July 30, the independent bookstore Paraísos de Papel organized a double literary program to mark the International Day of Friendship. The event began with a storytelling‑painting activity for children aged 3‑7, based on the illustrated audio‑book "Unha historia diferente do parrulo feo" by writer‑illustrator Soledad García, emphasizing diversity and self‑acceptance. In the evening, the same venue hosted an adult presentation of García’s anthology "Afouteza," a collection of award‑winning poems and images, accompanied by a honey tasting.

Both events aim to promote reading, creativity, and community engagement through a mix of literary discussion, art, and interactive activities.
