Cecilia González explores memory and migration through culinary heritage
Mexican journalist Cecilia González, who has lived in Argentina since 2002, has released a new book titled ‘Clases de cocina’ (La Crujía). The work is described as more than a simple recipe book, as it integrates her culinary heritage with themes of migration, history, and cultural identity.
Drawing on recipes learned from her mother, Florita, González uses cooking as a means to preserve memory and explore the collective experiences of street vendors and immigrant traditions. Her work continues her long-standing connection to Argentine society and her investigative interests in cultural passions like tango.
