Caccuri Prize: Cecilia Sala wins 15th edition of literary award

The 15th edition of the Caccuri Prize has concluded, marking the event as a significant point of reference in the Italian cultural landscape. Cecilia Sala won the non-fiction section for her work ‘The children of hatred’ (Mondadori), receiving the Silver Tower from the prefect of Crotone, Franca Ferraro.

Other finalists in the non-fiction category included Tommaso Cerno for ‘The Reasons of Judas’, Pietro Grasso for ‘U Maxi. Inside the Cosa Nostra trial’, and Luca Sommi for ‘Solo amore’. In the fiction category, Anna Mallamo was awarded the 2026 Fiction Prize for her novel ‘Col dark me la vedo io’.

Journalist Gianluigi Nuzzi, an honorary citizen of Caccuri, co-hosted the concluding evenings alongside Laura Freddi. The event, organized by the Accademia dei Caccuriani, featured discussions on contemporary issues, including a presentation by Tommaso Cerno regarding the relationship between ideology, dissent, and individual freedom.
