Cecilio Waterman faces disciplinary report after playing as goalkeeper

Panamanian striker Cecilio Waterman faces a disciplinary report following Universidad de Concepción’s 2-1 victory over Universidad de Chile. During the final minutes of the match, goalkeeper Jorge Broun was sent off, and because the team had no remaining substitutions, Waterman stepped in to play as the goalkeeper.

While Waterman successfully helped secure the win, referee Diego Flores noted a regulatory violation in his official report. According to the referee, Waterman used the same jersey worn by the expelled goalkeeper, Broun, rather than a goalkeeper's jersey without a number or identification, as required by Article 35 of the Championship Rules. The matter has been referred to the Disciplinary Tribunal for review.
