Cedar Crossing Casino to open in Cedar Rapids on November 19
Cedar Crossing Casino & Entertainment Center is scheduled to open in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on November 19, moving its debut forward by six weeks from the original timeline. The $275 million development marks the first casino in Linn County following more than a decade of unsuccessful licensing attempts.
During a recent Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission meeting, developers sought approval for security plans and sports wagering licenses. While the facility will open in mid-November, sports betting kiosks are expected to become available during a formal grand opening celebration scheduled for December 4–5. This celebration will feature various musical performances, including a concert by Old Dominion.
The facility will include approximately 700 slot machines, 22 table games, and a 1,500-seat entertainment venue. Additional amenities include the Compass Center for interactive exhibits, various dining options such as The Zach Johnson Clubhouse, and facilities for arts and cultural programming. Peninsula Pacific Entertainment attributed the accelerated timeline to strategic procurement, local labor, and favorable weather.
