CEDES Victoria provides health services to children and pregnant woman
Health services were provided to children and a pregnant woman living at the Centro de Ejecución de Sanciones (CEDES) in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas. Through the ‘Feria de Atención Integrada’ program, organized by the Distrito de Salud para el Bienestar Uno, six minors under the age of three received nutritional evaluations, vaccinations, and developmental testing.
Medical personnel also provided guidance on oral rehydration and the prevention of acute respiratory infections. Additionally, cancer detection screenings were administered to women residing at the facility. As part of the initiative, hygiene products, clothing, and toys were donated to the children.
Perla Escamilla Niño, subdirector of CEDES Victoria, stated that these actions represent a commitment to the well-being of children. The Tamaulipas Secretariat of Public Security noted that the activity was conducted following the principle of the ‘best interests of the child’ to ensure the rights and health of minors living within the correctional center.
