CEDIS reports record low electricity distribution losses in Montenegro

CEDIS has reported that electricity distribution losses in Montenegro reached a historical minimum of 6.82 percent in September. This figure represents a decrease of 0.41 percentage points compared to September of last year and a 1.12 percentage point drop from the same period in 2024.

Despite the reduction in loss percentages, the total amount of electricity taken increased to 261,894,190 kWh, which is over 30 million kWh higher than in September of the previous year. For the first nine months of the current year, total energy taken reached 2,574,618,163 kWh, with losses reduced to 9.61 percent from 9.73 percent during the same period in 2025.

Comparing the results from January to September against the previous year, the savings amount to approximately 3,000 MWh of electricity, with a market value of roughly 400,000 euros. CEDIS attributes these improvements to a combination of advanced systems and continuous field actions aimed at preventing unauthorized electricity use and improving overall energy efficiency.
