Cedric Itten signs as new striker for Werder Bremen

Swiss international forward Cedric Itten, 29, has been officially introduced as Werder Bremen's latest attacking signing. The Basel‑born striker arrives after a 15‑goal season with Fortuna Düsseldorf and a brief Bundesliga spell with Greuther Fürth, where he scored two goals in 12 appearances.

Itten, who speaks several languages and is a friend of former Werder midfielder Miloš Veljković, said he views the move as a chance to complete unfinished business in Germany's top flight. Werder coach Ole Werner expects Itten to add a physical presence in the penalty area and help increase the team's goal output.

The acquisition follows Itten's earlier loan experience at Greuther Fürth in the 2021‑22 season, which ended after limited playing time. Now, with a full contract at Bremen, he aims to become a regular starter and contribute to the club's offensive push in the upcoming Bundesliga campaign.
