Cefalù doubles municipal nursery capacity with new facility

The city of Cefalù is set to inaugurate a new municipal nursery school at via Giglio, doubling its childcare capacity from 25 to 50 children. The new facility will accommodate 26 children aged 0 to 3, complementing the existing nursery in via Pietragrossa.

The expansion was funded by an 840,000 euro grant from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) via the Ministry of Education and Merit. These funds were used for the restoration and functional redevelopment of the building to meet modern educational standards. Mayor Daniele Tumminello stated that the initiative aims to improve social services and support for families through high-quality early childhood education.
