Cefim prepares municipal public servant certification for 2027

The State Coordination for the Institutional Strengthening of Municipalities (Cefim) is preparing a new certification process for municipal public servants ahead of the 2027 local government renewals. The initiative aims to ensure that those assuming administrative responsibilities possess the necessary knowledge and competencies to provide improved services to the population.

Cefim head Christian Joaquín Sánchez Sánchez stated that the scheme is being developed in coordination with university institutions as part of a professionalization strategy. During 2025, under the administration of Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona, more than 1,380 municipal workers were certified.

The upcoming certification process for the 2027 cycle is planned to begin after individuals are elected and before they complete their first year in office, ensuring more efficient and prepared municipal administrations.
