Cegelec Maroc celebrates 80 years of operations and international expansion

Cegelec Maroc, a VINCI Energies entity, celebrated its 80th anniversary in Casablanca, bringing together approximately 1,500 employees and retirees. Since its origins in 1946 through the Compagnie Chérifienne d’Entreprises Électriques and the Société Générale d’Entreprises Électriques, the company has diversified from electrical services into energy, water, industry, construction, and information technology.

The company reported a turnover of 8 billion dirhams in 2025 and currently employs nearly 4,400 people. Its international footprint has expanded significantly, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa since 2014. Notable projects include the interconnection of over 1,000 kilometers of 225 kV power lines linking Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, and Senegal, as well as high-voltage transformation stations in Mauritania, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, and Rwanda.

In the Middle East, where it has operated since 2018, Cegelec Maroc focuses on energy transport. In 2025, the company launched three new 400 kV electrical substation projects, including two in Saudi Arabia and one in the United Arab Emirates. Additionally, the firm is currently managing technical works for a 421-meter tower in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
