Ceglie Messapica to host medical congress on steatotic liver disease
The “Steatotic Liver Disease 2.0” medical congress is scheduled to take place on September 18 and 19, 2026, at the ASL Brindisi Rehabilitation Center in Ceglie Messapica. Led by scientific director Dr. Emanuela Ciracì, the director of Internal Medicine at Ostuni Hospital, the event focuses on Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD).
The congress aims to provide a multidisciplinary approach to this systemic disease, bringing together specialists from Puglia and other major Italian medical centers. The program includes five scientific sessions and keynote lectures covering the natural history of MASLD, its hepatic and extrahepatic outcomes, and new metabolic therapies.
Key topics of discussion will include early diagnosis, screening for hepatocellular carcinoma, and the integration of cardiovascular, diabetic, and nephrological care. Additionally, the event will explore the role of digital technologies, ultrasound, and intelligent systems in studying liver lesions, as well as new therapeutic frontiers in hepatobiliary tumors.
