Ceibas firefighters combat grass fire near Route 12

Firefighters from Ceibas responded to a grass and forestry waste fire near kilometer 189 of National Route 12, in the Médanos level crossing area, on Sunday night. The fire, which had been active since approximately midday, affected an area estimated at 200 meters long by 100 meters wide.

The Médanos Detachment used specialized forestry kits, water lines, and manual tools to control the perimeter. While the high volume of combustible material meant some burning continued in the center, crews successfully extinguished the edges to prevent the flames from spreading to other areas. Operations concluded at 21:26.

Authorities from the Ceibas Volunteer Firefighters reminded the public that all burning activities must have the proper authorization from the Entre Ríos Provincial Secretariat of Environment.
