Ceilândia salon investigation follows death of teacher
The Civil Police of the Federal District are investigating the death of Lidiane Gomes de Souza Alves, a 50-year-old teacher who died following a hair loss treatment at a beauty salon in Ceilândia. The victim reportedly received an injection of a supposed vitamin complex, which led to severe malaise, breathing difficulties, and seven cardiac arrests before she passed away.
Preliminary investigations suggest the death may have been caused by anaphylactic shock. The salon owner, who identified herself to the family as a biomedical professional, has provided a statement to the 23rd Police Station but remained silent during questioning. Authorities have seized the product vials for chemical analysis.
The Federal District Health Secretariat noted that the establishment lacks sanitary licenses and is registered as a residential property, meaning it is not authorized to operate as a health or aesthetic services facility. The case is being treated as involuntary manslaughter and the irregular practice of medicine.
