CEIM implements training and technology for energy transition

CEIM is adapting its training programs to support the energy transition and evolving industrial requirements in sectors such as mining and energy. The center is incorporating new technologies and competencies to prepare human capital for automation and autonomous equipment monitoring.

Key initiatives include the launch of an Electronic Maintenance program for Light Electric Vehicles within its Industrial Trades School. Additionally, in partnership with New Steel Mining, CEIM has begun an innovative retrofit project to convert a Caterpillar 777D mining truck from diesel to a 100% electric system. This conversion involves replacing the diesel engine and transmission with batteries, electric traction motors, and electronic controls, with a projected autonomy of at least eight hours.
