CEIP Reggio parents denounce lack of school maintenance

The Parents' Association (AMPA) of CEIP Reggio in Puerto Real has denounced the poor state of the school's facilities just two days before the start of the new academic year. The association claims that promised maintenance work was not carried out during the summer, leaving the classrooms and installations in the same condition as at the end of the previous school year. Specific complaints include a lack of adequate conditioning and the absence of potable water fountains.

This complaint contradicts statements from the Puerto Real City Council, which reported that maintenance work—including painting, humidity repairs, carpentry, and security improvements—was performed during July and August. The AMPA maintains that the reality of the school is “very different from what was announced” by the local government and notes that several issues had been reported to municipal education officials prior to the end of the last term.
