Celaya: 15-year-old arrested for killing grandmother

A 15-year-old boy was detained by municipal police in the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood of Celaya after allegedly stabbing and killing his grandmother on Saturday afternoon.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Revolución Mexicana Street. Neighbors alerted authorities after observing the teenager behaving inappropriately, breaking windows, and attempting to open a gas tank valve, which posed a risk to the residence and surrounding area.

Emergency responders found the elderly woman with stab wounds inside the home. Although paramedics provided first aid and transported her to a hospital, she passed away shortly after arrival. The State Attorney General's Office has taken custody of the minor to conduct an investigation and determine his legal status.
