Celaya councilor Cristina González switches from PVEM to Morena
Celaya city councilor Cristina González Muñoz formally left the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM) and announced her affiliation with the ruling Morena party. The move was confirmed at a press event with Morena state leader Adriana Guzmán Cerna, mayor Juan Miguel Ramírez Sánchez and council secretary Daniel Nieto Martínez in attendance.
González said she resigned from PVEM for personal reasons and that the switch will not affect her work for Celaya residents. She praised the welcome she received from Morena members, reaffirmed her commitment to the city's health and social assistance committees, and did not rule out seeking elected office in future elections. The addition of González gives Morena a qualified majority on the Celaya municipal council.
